Summary
What could I say about this movie, you may ask? Well what I can say is that it was one of the absolute best movies in general I have ever seen in both the cinema and for quite a while.
What's it about?
The story is about Miles Morales, a fan of Spider-Man. One day he gets bitten by a radioactive spider, giving him super powers. Suddenly Spider-Man gets killed, so Miles makes himself a spider-suit to be the new Spider-Man. Along the way he encounters other versions of Spider-Man who were transported from their own universes to Miles's. Now it's up to the Spider-Men and Women to save New York City from a disastrous fate, planned by the evil crime boss named "Kingpin", and return the other Spider-Men and Women back to their own dimensions before it's too late.
The good bits
The film had very beautiful and unique animation like never seen before, which made it look very much like what you would find in a Marvel comic book. The film had fun characters, clever writing and excellent voice-acting. It also had a heartwarming story, a lively soundtrack and a lot of funny jokes. There was a very meaningful moral about accepting people who are different.
The bad bits
There was nothing I did not like about this movie at all.
What is it similar to?
It was slightly better than other movies I have seen recently such as Coco, Incredibles 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy. It also was one of the most influential types of animated and super-hero movies I have seen for quite a while. It is my favourite movie of 2018 in general.
Oscar's recommendation
I can gladly recommend any fans of animation, super-heroes, Spider-Man, comic books and Marvel in general to see this movie. However I still want to point out that there was at least two jump-scares that might make some people, autistic or not, feel deeply uncomfortable.
Parent/carer alerts
Swearing
There was some mild swear words used, such as "hell", "pissed" and "crap".
Violence
There was a lot of very brutal fighting and violence, that felt very much like a live-action movie. For example, when Spider-Man in Miles's universe gets brutally killed, Miles's uncle gets shot to death by Kingpin and a couple of scenes in which spiders bite characters. There were also two scenes in which blood comes out of kingpin's nose.
Fear
There was a lot of intense scenes, such as spiders biting into characters, Kingpin threatening the heroes and two jump-scares that might not be good for some people, autistic or not.

Sensory details
Anyone who wants to see this movie will have to prepare for two jump-scares, whether or not they will feel comfortable about it. There was also a lot of colourful scenery, graphic violence, and you will have to prepare yourself for some very emotional and upsetting scenes, such as Kingpin's backstory and the death of Miles's uncle.

Skills
The writing was quite complicated, so I can recommend anyone who doesn't understand the story to ask their parents, siblings or guardians, so they they can understand the story better. Also you have to prepare yourselves for a lot of graphic fighting, threat and violence in general. As well as two jump-scares, whether or not you can tolerate those. And you must also prepare yourselves for some serious and heartbreaking scenes.
